Job Description Summary # Job Description The Business Process Transformation Lead will be responsible for identifying and driving strategic Business Process and Continuous Improvement initiatives across BD. This will be done by leveraging industry best practices, analyzing leading and lagging process indicator metrics, and using LSS tools, such as value stream mapping, process orchestration, process mining, change management, DMAIC, DFSS, Hoshin-Kanri, PROSCI, Kaizen, etc. The business process transformation lead will be responsible for instilling a mindset of process simplification among stakeholders across the organization through first demonstrating an excellence in professionalism, a high degree of integrity, willingness/strength to do the right thing in difficult situations and delivering high-level of impact process simplification and financial performance outcomes. Job Responsibilities + Positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods across BD’s business processes (initial focus nonproduction and non-manufacturing environment) + Serve as a facilitator, advocate, consultant, and accountability partner for the business, by driving the understanding and application of Lean principles and tools across the entire BD Enterprise + Use Lean company benchmarks, both internal and external to collaborate with our BU/P&L teams to improve processes and practices. + Establish a lean transformation plan inclusive of solid recommendations for process improvements with a high-level impact on process simplification and financial performance based on the prioritized business process areas, and work closely with businesses, regions and teams across BD to deliver + Champion organizational lean mindset and discipline within BD, working collaboratively with Business Process Excellence team and network of members. + Assist P&L, Regions and Business functional leaders in establishing leading and lagging process indicator metrics to drive business process excellence, continuous improvement and establishing measuring and monitoring of scorecards + Mentors, coaches, and trains others within with Business Process Excellence team and across BD globally to drive a culture of business process excellence. Partner with the practitioners and community on lean principles and leverage those to develop lean, value stream mapping, Kaizen, Hoshin Kanri and six sigma proficiency for all employees; contributing to internal capabilities build out. + Sets own work direction and completes work tasks along with assigned project team members + Provides timely and effective project communications, including meeting facilitation, and status reporting + Creates management reports and presentations (as required) to keep leadership and stakeholders up to date with status inclusive of schedule, budget and expected benefits + Demonstrates management courage to articulate risks and challenges of initiatives to executive management + Plans and executes change management activities related to each assigned project inclusive of communicating success stories + Demonstrate the values ofAccountable – take ownership, drive to finishConnecting – High touch and involvement, tie together and keep informedPurposeful – Ask why, get clarity and context, and be intentional and focused Desired Qualifications + Business Process Excellence and CI : Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification. Must be knowledgeable in business process analysis and continuous improvement methodology understanding how to use data to drive decision making. Capable of understanding which tools to use in typical business situation. Trained practitioner of lean, value stream mapping, process orchestration, process mining, change management, DMAIC, DFSS, Hoshin-Kanri, PROSCI, Kaizen, etc. + Problem Solving: Expertise in solving complex problems and transforming business performance and process through the application of Lean and Six Sigma techniques. Proven track record of bringing order and structure to functions and organizations quickly + Global Acumen: Ability to effectively drive outcomes in large, matrixed organizations and understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc. Can drive work across the globe because of demonstrated excellence in professionalism, professional communication, presence, a high degree of integrity, and willingness/strength to do the right thing in difficult situations. + Change Management: Successful change agent; ability to make the case for lean, demonstrate immediate impact and drive cultural change within the business and on campus. The ideal candidate has been through complex change and tough situations; bringing a will to win with strong followership. + Project Management : Must be knowledgeable in project management and understand the project planning process. Capable of identifying when a project is at risk and able to facilitate and lead the team to resolve issues and re-plan as needed to get the project back on track. + Strategic Mindset: Strategic mindset with hands-on approach focusing on the bigger picture + Facilitation : Must be able to facilitate difficult working sessions with all levels of organization and handle positive and negative feedback and inputs appropriately. + Customer Focus: Strong commercial focus on customer and end user experience + Collaborative Mindset : Proven ability to effectively build partnerships and take a relationship-based approach in working with internal and external stakeholders at every level of the organization to deliver process efficiencies, cost savings, minimize operational risks and increase process simplification. Comfortable with constructive conflict and debate normally associated with change + Program Management / Office Tools : Very strong organizational, project planning, scheduling and risk management skills and demonstrated experience using project management tools and software Proficient in the use of all MS Office tools (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) + Executive Communication Skills : Proven ability to communicate key messages to senior leadership audiences and effectively manage key stakeholders + Positive Attitude : Be able to cast a positive attitude and evoke positive responses from others inclusive of those with conflicting priorities Required Experience/Education + Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college; Masters preferred + Minimum of 10 years of experience as a lean leader with demonstrated ability in organizational transformation + Proven experience in leading large initiatives and ability to influence associates at all levels + Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification + Demonstrated experience applying master black belt in industries such as medical, pharmaceutical, automotive, and high technology + Experience leading and working with global teams + Must be willing to travel up to 25% (internationally & domestically) Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
