Perform operations maintaining product quality and production levels. Work as a team member for maximum effectiveness. Responsibilities include product inspection, operating equipment, raw material/finished goods movement and cleaning/sanitizing. Monitor machine functions and attempt to detect any conditions that are or are becoming out of control. Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintain equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule. Clean machines and immediate work area. Responsible to produce, visually inspect and package product. Operate equipment and process functions. Conduct inspections and perform process tests. Understand and complete all required paperwork in a timely fashion. Responsible to respond to and reset alarms as needed. Sustain a productive work environment through effective communication with team members. Responsible to contribute to the continuous improvement of the process. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Must maintain certification on equipment assigned. Obey all company policies, standards and rules, including but not limited to:

  • Safety policies and rules (including lockout procedures);

  • Quality policies and rules.

  • Understand and apply BD standards and specs to ensure all products are produced to BD standards.

Must maintain regular, punctual attendance.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Leader and required to support the needs of the business.

Required

H.S, Diploma/GED (if hired after 6/1/00) Internal transfers exempted

Experience and Knowledge

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.

  • Good interpersonal skills

Supervisory Responsibility

No supervision of others

May be required to take a leading role, such as assigning activities to other Associates who perform work that is similar or closely related to this position (less than 50% of the time)

Regularly required to take a leading role, such as assigning activities to other Associates who perform work that is similar or closely related to this position (50% or more of the time)

Provides leadership, direction and supervision for non-exempt Associates, including writing performance reviews.

Computer Skills Required for Position

Basic Keyboarding and navigational skills

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

1. On-the-job Training Period

A. Upon placement into position, associate can expect to receive the following amount of training provided by a qualified trainer:

6 weeks

After training period is complete, additional learning will take place. List theexpectedperiod of time for an associate to be considered proficient in this position:

6 months

  • High speed manufacturing environment. Must remain alert and focused.
