Job Description SummaryReporting to the Associate Director of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, the Scrum Master /AGILE Lead will facilitate the agile development methodologies for our DataOps teams. The Scrum Master will collaborate with our Business Partner organizations (functional/regional/segment product owners) to scope development activities, manage development backlog, define releases and manage the sprint schedule for the delivery of DataOps services.
The Scrum Master is a key process owner and facilitator of the team, guiding the team through the Agile mindset, structure and process to create work plans, track progress, resolve issues, and deliver iterative value. The Scrum master will establish and maintain regular interaction and communications with the product owner, team and other key stakeholders as required.
In addition, this role is expected to own the adoption of Scrum/Agile methodologies and systems into the DataOps team’s work processes.
Facilitate the delivery of assigned agile DataOps initiatives.
Assist product owners and agile DataOps teams to define scope, goals, and deliverables.
Acts as Scrum Master for one or more DataOps teams and provides direct team support, improves team planning skills, and facilitates agile team meetings.
Works with the DataOps team lead to identify the resources and effort required to successfully complete the objectives of assigned initiatives.
Leads DataOps agile teams in creating and organizing project work, required documents, and deliverables for validation and compliance traceability (where required).
Guides the teams and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers and to deliver project outcomes.
Facilitating team improvement, collaboration, transparency, and meaningful retrospectives relative to Agile development methodologies.
Creates management reports and presentations (as required) to keep product owner and BI & Data Analytics leaders up to date on progress and deliverable status.
Sets own work direction and sets the direction for assigned scrum team members.
Assists the scrum team in resolving issues that threaten the success of our Agile development work product
Removes impediments by finding the correct resources to resolve issues.
Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear, with an emphasis on problem-solving and a bias towards action.
Facilitates discussion, decision-making, and healthy conflict resolution.
Guides the development teams to increase their transparency and effectively track their progress by leveraging metrics.
Continue to develop competency for Scrum Master tools & techniques.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline preferred; or equivalent work experience. Minimum High School Diploma required.
3+ years of experience working for a global Fortune 500 company.
3+ years of experience working on IT application development, business intelligence, and infrastructure teams.
2+ years of experience leading technology implementation and project teams. Experience working with a variety of third-party companies and partners to achieve business goals.
Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and application technologies.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar agile project management certification (PMI-ACP)
+1 year of experience working with Jira or similar software
Education and Skills
Working knowledge of, and some experience using agile values, principles, and frameworks (including Scrum), tools, and practices.
Solid understanding of BD policies, processes, and procedures.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and customers to ensure assigned projects and teams remain aligned to product owner priorities.
Able to quickly gather relevant data and draw accurate conclusions that lead to the identification of the root causes of problems.
Capable of conveying or presenting relevant information needed for decision-making in a clear and concise format that leads to the identification of realistic solutions.
Capable of facilitating the team to identify effective solutions to problems encountered or identified.
Ability to focus on customer needs and value with a bias toward action and results. Able to maintain regular, effective communications with all team members, managers, and sponsors.
Able to tailor messages to the applicable audience and to provide informative presentations when needed or requested.
